Log on and Registration Assistance

Members currently listed in the database use their nagva id and password to log on. If you are unsure of your password, but provided your SSN at some time, your default password is the first 3 letters of your last name + last 4 digits of your SSN. (see example 1)

If you provided an alternate id# to the Registrar, it would default to the last 4 digits of that number rather than your SSN.

If you've forgotten your NAGVA ID #, use the Lookup tool and search by <last name,first> to retrieve it.

If you forgot your password, and you've tried using the default format noted above, send an email to the Registrar or Webmaster. We will gladly help with such requests.

If your last name has fewer than 3 letters, insert an "X" as a third letter, then follow the pattern described above. (see example 2).

Examples:

1. Misty May, SSN: 123-45-6789
default = may6789

2. Tan Ng, Alt ID:9999
default= ngX9999 (note: the 'X' is upper case, and case sensitive.)

Setting a new password

In all cases, once you log on successfuly for the first time, you should immediately change the password to something more secure and easier to remember. Please use the following parameters:

  • Min characters: 6
  • Max. characters: 10
  • No punctuation, but may include both letters and numbers.
